About Rackears
Rackears is a passion project built and operated by me, Richie, a self-diagnosed GAS addict with a deep love for synthesizers, music gear, strange little boxes, and the people who make them.

Like a lot of gear enthusiasts, I’ve spent countless hours digging through forums, manufacturer pages, demo videos, Discord threads, and half-forgotten product announcements trying to understand what a synth is, where it came from, whether it’s still being made, and how people are actually using it. Rackears grew out of that habit.
The goal is make synthesizers easier to discover, follow, and approachable to a wider audience.
Rackears is designed to connect synth collectors, music gear enthusiasts, and hardware manufacturers through intuitive product discovery and transparent public reporting. Whether someone is buying their first desktop synth, building a module from scratch, or bringing a small hardware project into the world, Rackears makes it easier to find useful information in one place, including product details, production status, funding status, video overviews, manufacturer updates, and more, without having to chase scattered posts across the internet.
The site also includes a growing catalog of curated sound presets from established preset resellers and will be adding more resources for DIY makers, open source projects, and independent builders.
Rackears is not a big company. It is one person, a growing database, and a lot of love for the machines, makers, and communities that keep electronic music interesting.
