ARP Instruments, founded by Alan R. Pearlman in 1969, was one of the dominant American synthesizer manufacturers of the 1970s. Their instruments, including the Odyssey, 2600, and Omni, were known for stable oscillators and clear sound, rivaling Moog. Though the original company closed in 1981, the legacy lives on through reissues by Korg and clones by other manufacturers.
