Cheetah

UK

British computer peripherals manufacturer Cheetah entered the music instrument market in the late 1980s, initially with the MK5 controller keyboard and the MD8 drum machine, evolving from their earlier SpecDrum software for the Sinclair Spectrum. They produced affordable analogue and digital gear including the MS6 synthesizer using Curtis CEM3396 chips akin to the Oberheim Matrix series, the MD16 drum machine and its rackmount variants, the MS800 wavetable synth module, and the SX16 sampler. The music division ceased operations in 1993.
