Dubreq

Hastings, East Sussex, UK

Dubreq originated in London in 1968 when Brian Jarvis invented the Stylophone, a miniature stylus-operated synthesizer, inspired by repairing a toy piano for his niece. The instrument became a cultural phenomenon, selling millions of units and used by artists like David Bowie, Kraftwerk, and John Lennon. After a hiatus, Brian's son Ben reformed Dubreq in 2007 to relaunch production, expanding into modern instruments like the Gen X-1 while preserving the original's unique analog sound.
