ELTA music was founded in 2017 by musician Arseniy Tokarev in Riga, Latvia, where the name originally stood as an acronym for Electro Laboratory of Tokarev Arseniy. The company crafts unique experimental electronic musical instruments, including the Solar series of analogue microtonal ambient drone machines inspired by early 20th-century designs like Leo Theremin's Harmonium and Soviet synths such as the Polivoks and ANS. Today, a small team of developers, installers, and musicians produces all items in Riga factories adhering to EC and RoHS standards, with products like the Solar 42N oriented toward live performances, film soundtracks, and atmospheric music.
