Haken Audio

Haken Audio has pioneered musical innovation for over 40 years, crafting synthesizers that rival the expressivity of acoustic instruments. Founded by Lippold Haken, an Electrical and Computer Engineering professor at the University of Illinois, and developed in collaboration with sound designer Edmund Eagan, the company created the Continuum Fingerboard and its EaganMatrix sound engine, a modular digital synthesizer utilizing custom DSP technology. They established the MPE+ standard and contributed to the Osmose synthesizer with Expressive E, producing instruments like the Slim Continuum, ContinuuMini, and EaganMatrix Module that emphasize precision, innovation, and deep musical connection.
