Nyström Instruments is the creation of Albert Nyström, a small-scale instrument maker, music teacher, and musician based in Malmö, Sweden. With a background in jazz guitar, he began teaching himself electronics, programming, and instrument design in 2020 while pursuing a master's degree in music education. After developing several experimental instruments, he launched the Crum Drum, a compact generative FM drum machine that combines ease-of-use with complex, interactive features designed to inspire unconventional creative workflows. His goal is to craft instruments that mutually influence the user and the musician's process.
