Playtime Engineering was founded in 2018 by Troy and Kate Sheets. Troy, with his background in hardware programming and delivering products for Silicon Valley companies, began developing synthesizer concepts that evolved into the Blipblox after collaborating with renowned synth designer Axel Hartmann on ergonomics and legendary instrument influences. Kate brought expertise in business operations, logistics, graphic design, and technical writing. The company creates intelligent music toys like the Blipblox series, designed to introduce children and adults to synthesis and electronic music production through playful, screen-free devices that promote creativity and audio exploration.
