Shear Electronics is a boutique synthesizer manufacturer founded by Jacob Brashears, who began designing the Relic as a teenager. The company specializes in discrete analog polyphonic synthesizers inspired by the Oberheim OB-X architecture, featuring custom voice cores with independent processors, aircraft-grade aluminum construction, and innovative optical encoder interfaces. The Relic has evolved from a six-voice prototype to a four-zone multitimbral instrument with 512 programs and advanced patch memory capabilities.
