Studio Electronics was founded in 1981 by partners Val St. Regis and Tim Caswell at the Sunset 'n' Gower S.I.R. Rehearsal Studios in Hollywood, initially focusing on repair, replacement parts, and modification services for analog synthesizers. Val's sons Greg and Marc St. Regis joined in 1985 and 1989, leading to the development of the landmark SE-1, the first monophonic, programmable, discrete premium quality analog synthesizer. Under the direction of Analogia Inc., the company has since become a leading boutique manufacturer of rackmount, desktop, Eurorack modules, and systems that honor classic American analog circuits from brands like ARP, Oberheim, and Moog, producing enduring, high-fidelity sounds.
