Wirehead Instruments began in 2020 when Andrew, a musician with a background in electronics assembly and software development, started designing and building synthesizers, modules, and noise machines in his home studio in Perth, Western Australia. In 2023, it rebranded from Meebleeps Machines to better capture the essence of creating tools for artificially induced pleasure through sound. The company focuses on innovative instruments like the Basilisk hybrid bassline synthesizer, featuring dual digital oscillators and an aggressive MS-20-style analog filter paired with a generative sequencer, and the Freaq FM digital synthesizer, emphasizing rhythm, sound design, generative technology, and flashing lights.
