Zynthian

Zynthian is a community-driven, open-source music-making computer platform built on Raspberry Pi and Linux. The project provides a compact, self-contained synthesizer and audio processing system that functions as a keyboard expander, effects unit, MIDI processor, and groovebox. The software includes over 30 synthesizer engines with accurate emulations of classic instruments such as pianos, electric pianos, Hammond organs, and the DX7, alongside virtual analog synthesizers and support for multiple soundfont formats. The platform features over 500 audio effects and includes an innovative audio sampler engine with advanced capabilities like time stretching and pitch shifting. As a fully open-source and hackable platform, Zynthian can be built from scratch or purchased as an official kit, with the V5.1 kit representing a recent iteration that doubles processing power through integration with the Raspberry Pi 5.
