Owlet is experimental firmware for the Synthstrom Deluge built as a portable sound-design and resampling machine and a companion for external gear. It adds a broad set of effects: a beat-repeat, slicing and granular looper, a lightweight reverb, a three-band upward and downward compressor, sine and wavetable waveshapers, an allpass disperser, an automodulator, a noise-modulated comb-filter eroder, a channel-strip utility, and a harmonic tool that notches out a tracked frequency and adds it back as a clean sine. New oscillators include a pulse-width triangle and a family of procedural designs, among them scanned-synthesis, pulse-train voice, stochastic, staircase and self-synchronizing swarm oscillators. A unison-index modulation source spreads timbre across unison voices. For sampling and workflow it adds bounce in place for clips and tracks, a lookback sampler that saves the last seconds or bars of the input, the master mix or a single track after the fact, a choice of recording source for resampling the Deluge's own output, and sound cloning by pad gesture. It also adds gate and ping-pong sample modes, loop crossfades and per-step sample start offsets. Four global macros act as both modulation sources and destinations, and MIDI Follow gains a 16-control mod-knob map and switchable controller presets. Effects are designed to use no memory or CPU when switched off, and their menus require the horizontal menu option to be enabled.
