Joy and Joy Lite are alternate firmware for the Electrosmith Daisy patch.Init() that turn the module into a macro oscillator. Joy offers dozens of synthesis models in banks, covering analog-style waveforms, hard-sync and triple-oscillator voices, comb, ring-modulation and additive spectra, two-operator FM, digital filter and vowel synthesis, modeled strings, reed and flute, percussion, wavetables, and noise and granular textures. It needs a 64×48 OLED fitted in place of the toggle switch, with a printed front panel; the screen shows the bank, the model and what the timbre and color knobs do on it. Joy Lite runs on an unmodified patch.Init() with a smaller curated set of models in two banks chosen by the toggle, and the LED blinks the model number. On both, the four knobs set timbre, color, attack and decay, and CV inputs add V/oct pitch, timbre and color modulation, and FM. Gate input 1 triggers the envelope, and with nothing patched there the voice drones; gate input 2 hard-syncs the oscillator, and the button steps through models and banks. Pitch comes only from the V/oct input, as there is no manual tuning knob. A two-point V/oct calibration runs on the module, and the last model is remembered across power cycles.

Patch changes fade the output out and back in to avoid clicks.

Incoming audio passes through a high-pass filter into the reverb, then through an amplitude-modulation stage and an overdrive that adds square-wave noise, giving anything from a plain reverb tail to a gritty, pulsing texture. Knob 1 sets the send level, knob 2 the shared intensity of the overdrive, noise and modulation, knob 3 the feedback and high-pass filter, and knob 4 the reverb's lowpass filter, each with a matching CV input. The button switches the overdrive on and off, the toggle enables filter randomization with an amplitude LFO, and the LED lights when either is active. Both switch settings are saved to the SD card and restored at power-up.

Patches load from a microSD card in three banks: amp captures built on Neural Amp Modeler's A2-Lite architecture, with drive into the network and a dry/wet mix; not-amps, captures altered inside the network, each with a single steer control that bends it toward wavefolding, rectifying, feedback, frozen or rate-reduced sounds; and neural models of two analog filters, a Doepfer Wasp and a Behringer Swords, with cutoff and resonance on knobs and resonance pushed into ringing and oscillation at the top of its range. Knob 1 sets the mix, knob 2 the steer amount or filter cutoff, knob 3 the resonance and knob 4 the drive, each summed with the CV jack beneath it. A press of the button moves to the next patch and a long hold to the next bank. Mirth uses a 64×48 OLED fitted in place of the toggle switch to show the patch, an input meter and processor load, while Mirth Lite runs on an unmodified patch.Init() and signals bank and patch with LED blinks. Capture files copied to the card are converted automatically at the next boot.

The voices include a four-operator FM synth with parallel, serial and feedback algorithms; a dual oscillator with a quantized interval between its two voices, detune and pulse width, sent to separate outputs; and scanned synthesis, a simulated spring-mass string whose tension, damping and hammer strike shape an evolving drone or, with the envelope on, a gate-plucked note. Every voice shares one panel layout: a TUNE knob summed with V/oct, three MOD knobs with matching CV inputs, a trigger input and a single select button. A short press cycles the voice's algorithm, model or waveform, a long press switches between a play page and an edit page of secondary parameters with knob pickup, and a three-second hold returns to the voice chooser without a power cycle. It needs a 64×48 OLED fitted in place of the toggle switch, which shows the voice and the live meaning of each MOD control.

It records incoming audio and plays it back as grains, with four recording qualities from clean digital to dirty tape, a delay mode, a built-in reverb, and a wavetable synth voice for use with no input. The four knobs work on three layers: the toggle selects a play layer for time, size, density and pitch or a tone layer for grain shape, dry/wet, feedback and reverb, and holding the button gives randomizers for time, size, shape and pitch, with knobs picking up values rather than jumping. A tap of the button freezes the buffer, gate input 1 seeds grains, gate input 2 freezes, and gate output 1 can carry the grain gates. CV inputs cover V/oct, time, size and density, a settings page chooses the recording quality, mono, stereo or synth input and the gate output, and V/oct is calibrated on the module.

Sorrow is alternate firmware for the Electrosmith Daisy patch.Init() that turns the module into a self-contained drum machine with three synthesized voices and an X/Y pattern generator. Each kit roll fills the kick, snare and hi-hat slots from a pool of synthetic, analog-style and physical-modeling drum models, and a Wildness control sets how far a roll can go, from matched, safe kits to clashing, extreme ones. Flipping the toggle out and back rolls a new kit without touching the pattern. Patterns come from a two-dimensional rhythm map steered with X and Y knobs, with master density, per-part density trims and a chaos control. Holding the button switches between pattern banks, including maps derived from club, traditional and Latin drumming, and the module announces the new bank by voice. CV inputs modulate X, Y, density and chaos, one gate input takes a 16th-note clock and the other resets, and kick, snare and hi-hat triggers leave from the gate and CV outputs while the internal kit plays in stereo.
