The Track Mute Edition of the MPC3000 OS is a free, unofficial operating system modification for the Akai MPC3000 by Deep88. Pressing SONG opens a Track Mute page showing the first 16 tracks for live muting, with note repeat on the timing correction key and mute groups; holding SONG enters Song Mode. It also extends sampling and editing. Incremental and quick chop functions slice a loop into equal pieces calculated from the tempo or a set length, a Crush processor sets bit depth, sample rate, drive and pitch, and samples or zones can be normalized. The slider can sweep filter cutoff for new notes, sampling doesn't need a preset length and stops with STOP, the sequencer keeps running on the sample page, and a Setup menu and a new renaming system are included. Program and sequence files stay compatible with the standard operating system, and it boots from a floppy disk or a floppy emulator image.

MPC3000 (Beta) is Clevedon Road’s firmware mod for the Akai MPC3000, adding visual waveform editing directly on the sampler. It lets you view a sample’s waveform and set edit points on the machine. Access is through a private beta waitlist. Installation requires the original MPC3000 floppy drive or a Gotek or compatible floppy emulator; SCSI-only setups are not supported. Beta access is limited to selected owners with compatible hardware configurations.
