MASOS_BE
firmwareboxedear.com
MASOS_BE is a modified operating system for the Ensoniq Mirage sampler, released free by Boxed Ear, that adds realtime two-way SysEx access to every parameter, so a computer editor can read and change the Mirage's settings as they are edited. It is the companion OS for Boxed Ear's Visage desktop editor, and its SysEx and MIDI implementation is documented so other software and hardware editors can use it too. It works on all Mirage models and is distributed as a disk image, typically booted from a floppy emulator; the Mirage's boot ROM is not changed. Wavesamples saved in the format of the Mirage's earlier advanced sampling OS can be loaded with the Mirage's own sample load functions and saved in its format.
