GroovyDaisy

GroovyDaisy is alternate firmware for the Electrosmith Daisy Pod that turns it into a groovebox and looper for jamming with several players at once. A MIDI keyboard plays a six-voice polysynth from its keys and an eight-voice sample drum kit from its pads, while a guitar or other source in the audio input is monitored live and can be looped. Capture is retrospective: everything is held in rolling buffers, so the last one, two, four or eight bars of pads, keys or audio can be grabbed after they are played, and each capture becomes its own track. Captures can be quantized, played back with adjustable swing and velocity taming, and keep their knob automation, with live knob moves layered on top. A shared reverb and a tempo-synced ping-pong delay act as sends on every channel, eight scenes store track mute states and switch on the next bar line, and undo removes the newest capture. The Pod's buttons handle play/stop and undo and its encoder sets the tempo, while an optional companion app in a desktop browser shows track lanes and a mixer over USB and allows note editing. The MIDI control mappings are built around an Arturia KeyLab Essential 61 connected to the Pod's MIDI input.
