MINI-JV

MINI-JV is a Roland JV-880 emulator as a native plugin for Akai MPC OS standalone devices, with the JV-880's ROM PCM sound engine and its own reverb and chorus. It loads in the MPC's plugin host with its own touchscreen pages and Q-Link control. The Play page puts eight macros (cutoff, resonance, filter envelope depth, LFO depth and the amp envelope) beside output, patch and effect settings on one screen, and further pages cover banks and the four tones. You supply your own JV-880 ROM dump, which must be version 1.0.0. Builds are available for first-generation MPCs and the Force and for second-generation MPCs, on MPC OS 3.x, and installing needs root SSH access.

Liminal Hz is a convolution reverb for Akai Force and MPC OS, with impulse-response browsing and a touchscreen display of the space you are shaping. Load mono or stereo WAV impulse responses, adjust their start and end points, fade, stretch or reverse them, then shape the result with decay, feedback, pre-delay, tone and stereo width. Factory spaces provide starting points, and personal presets keep your chosen response and settings. A companion browser page on the same network lets a phone name presets and browse TONE3000 impulse responses. Separate builds support first-generation MPC/Force devices and 64-bit Gen 2 devices. Installation is unofficial and requires root access and the correct build for the device; the longer-impulse mode uses more processing power on first-generation hardware.
