Secret

Secret is alternate firmware for the Hermetic Modular Alchemy Lab that turns the module into a chaotic oscillator. It runs continuous strange-attractor systems as audio, among them Rössler, Lorenz, Chua, Duffing, Van der Pol and a driven pendulum, with pitch tracking from a V/oct input. A TAME control applies delayed feedback that settles each attractor onto one of its own periodic orbits, taking the sound from rough and noisy toward a clean tone; models with no orbit to find are left free. TUNE sets pitch, CHAOS sweeps each model's bifurcation parameter and CHAR its secondary parameter, with CV inputs for pitch, CHAOS and TAME. Two knobs shape a built-in envelope, one button selects the model, shown by LED color, and another switches between a drone and a gate-triggered envelope, where a new gate re-seeds the attractor only from silence. The attractor's X and Y signals come out as stereo audio and as a pair of CV outputs for viewing on an X/Y scope. On a few models the highest notes plateau because of processing limits.

Wish

firmwaregithub.com

Wish is alternate firmware for the Hermetic Modular Alchemy Lab that turns the module into a granular texture synthesizer. It continuously records incoming audio and plays it back as grains, with four recording qualities from clean digital to dirty tape, a delay mode, a built-in reverb, and a wavetable synth voice for use with nothing patched in. Six knobs set grain position in time, grain size, grain shape, density, pitch and dry/wet; holding the third button turns them into per-parameter randomizers plus feedback and reverb amounts. The buttons freeze the buffer, seed grains by hand or from the internal clock, and cycle the recording quality, while button combinations choose mono, stereo or synth input and can send the grain gates to an output. Jacks provide V/oct, a seed trigger, a freeze gate and CV for time, size and density, and the LED rings show knob positions. Settings and second-layer values are saved and restored at power-on.

Mark

firmwaregithub.com

Mark is a five-track live looper firmware for the Hermetic Modular Alchemy Lab Eurorack module (V2 panel only). Stereo audio from J1 and J2 is recorded into five independent loop tracks of about 55 seconds each, held in the module's SDRAM. Select a track, tap to record, tap to play and tap again to overdub. Without a clock the first loop sets the bar, and with a clock on J3 every loop snaps to it, with quantize settings from the bar down to sixteenth notes. The five pot rings act as track displays, colored by state with a playhead that circles once per loop. B1 records, plays and overdubs the selected track, with holds for undo and clearing, and B2 stops that track or all of them. The play page carries the five track levels and track selection. A setup page covers quantize, record and overdub behavior, play mode, tempo and master level, and each track has its own page for one-shot playback, reverse, an insert effect with amount, and pan. The front USB-C port can also act as a class-compliant USB audio interface or host a Launchpad Mini MK3, Launch Control XL or Haute42 pad through a powered hub, whose buttons punch in stutter, reverse, tape-stop, filter and similar effects. An SD-card picker switches to other firmware on the card. Loop audio is not kept after power-off.

Belt

firmwaregithub.com

Belt is a live vocal processor firmware for the Hermetic Modular Alchemy Lab Eurorack module (V2 panel only). A voice sung into J1 and J2 is pulled toward a chosen key and scale at an adjustable retune speed, from gentle correction to a full robotic hard tune, and up to four harmony voices walk the scale from the sung note. A stereo doubler and a formant control that makes the voice deeper or brighter without changing pitch complete the sound. The ring around the KEY pot doubles as a tuner, showing the sung note in green when it is in tune. The play page sets key, scale, retune speed, correction amount, harmony level and formant. Holding B3 opens a second page for the four voice intervals, doubler level and harmony stereo spread. B1 punches in or latches instant full correction, B2 mutes the harmonies, and a gate on J3 can also trigger the hard tune. The settings set the front USB-C port to one of three modes: a computer link for the web programmer and presets, a class-compliant USB audio interface, or a host for a Launchpad Mini MK3, Launch Control XL or Haute42 pad through a powered hub. An SD-card picker can switch the module to other firmware stored on the card.

Smack

firmwaregithub.com

Smack is a live loop-capture and glitch firmware for the Hermetic Modular Alchemy Lab Eurorack module (V2 panel only). It records the stereo input on J1 and J2 continuously, so holding B1 grabs the last few steps just played as a loop. The loop is cut into slices and run through a seeded pattern of per-slice effects and slice reordering. Tapping B1 re-rolls the pattern, a live mode re-captures the dry input once per loop pass, and holding B2 forces every slice through a chosen punch effect. The play page sets effect density, reorder density, loop length, slice size, a blend between the loop and the live input, and a DJ-style low-pass and high-pass filter. A setup page holds the seed, pitch range, clock ratio, punch effect, stereo or dual-mono mode, and tempo.
