MPC ONE+ Standalone Sampler / Workstation

DesktopDigitalPolyphonic

The MPC One+ carries forward a legacy that shaped hip-hop and electronic music production for decades, but in a form that finally feels like it was designed for modern producers who want to work standalone without compromise. Released in 2023 as an evolution of the original MPC One, this compact workstation trades the ethernet-only connectivity of its predecessor for WiFi and Bluetooth, making it genuinely wireless in a way that matters when you're pulling samples from Splice or syncing with controllers across the room.

The core of the MPC One+ is its 64-voice polyphonic engine built around sample-based synthesis, supported by virtual analog and FM capabilities through its included instruments like Electric, Tubesynth, and Bassline. You get a 7-inch multi-touch display, 16 velocity and pressure-sensitive RGB pads for programming beats and playing melodies, and five infinitely adjustable rotary encoders that give you real-time control over parameters. The sampling workflow is where this machine shines: you can capture audio directly to tracks, slice and time-warp loops, or use the Auto Sampler feature to intelligently record and map sounds from external synths across multiple velocity layers. The effects section includes reverb, delay, chorus, and distortion, plus newer additions like ring mod and bit crush that can be applied to individual drum pads.

Connectivity is comprehensive. Beyond WiFi and Bluetooth, there's a stereo line-level input and output on quarter-inch TRS connectors, MIDI I/O for hardware integration, four CV/Gate outputs for modular synthesis, USB for controllers and audio interfaces, and an SD card slot for custom samples. The 16GB internal storage gives you 7.2GB of user space for projects and expansion packs. At 272 x 272 x 53 millimeters and weighing just 2.1 kilograms, it's genuinely portable without feeling cramped. The vibrant red finish is purely aesthetic, but the engineering underneath has earned respect from producers across genres—the MPC workflow remains intuitive for pattern-based music whether you're making hip-hop, house, or experimental electronic work.
