Launched in 2020 as ALM Busy Circuits' first complete modular system, the System Coupe packs a curated selection of special-edition modules into a compact 84HP powered aluminum case, ready to spark ideas right out of the box.
At its heart sits the Squid Salmple, an 8-channel sampler for recording and playing back audio or CV, perfect for polyphonic voices, percussive hits, or even creative delays, paired with the MCO wavetable oscillator offering standard waves, a unique pulse output, and three simultaneous outputs. Modulation comes from Pamela’s New Workout for precise CV/gate/LFO duties and the Quaid Megaslope, a versatile 5-stage envelope, LFO, or step sequencer with voltage-controlled levels and slides. Sculpt sounds via the new MCF multimode analog filter with three VC outputs, shape with the Tangle Quartet's four transparent VCAs, and interface easily with mmMidi for TRS MIDI-to-CV/gate/velocity/triggers, Milton for line-level input/boost/mixing, a basic Mult, and an HPO headphone/line out. Grey panels, white screens, and magenta/blue knobs give it a distinctive, approachable look in desktop or Eurorack format.
Users love its groovebox-like immediacy for travel rigs or live sets, praising the Squid's flexibility and tight integration, though some note the sequencer stage limit calls for creative patching with Pamela.
