Asura by Animal Factory Amplification [Specs, Videos]
Asura
KeyboardHybridPolyphonic
Asura is Animal Factory's first standalone synthesizer, and it carries the company's taste for aggressive tone shaping into a compact four-voice hybrid wavetable instrument. Each voice uses two wavetable oscillators, with independent wavetable control, seven available waveforms, and smooth interpolation for moving sounds that can be pushed beyond conventional polysynth territory.
The hybrid architecture pairs digital wavetable control with analog distortion, giving the five-parameter distortion circuit a central role rather than treating it as an afterthought. Seven assignable modulation sources, including LFOs, ASR envelopes, CV, and polyphonic pressure from the keyboard, feed into an 8-step sequencer with parameter locks, patch memory, bidirectional MIDI over DIN or USB, and a web editor for wavetable editing, custom wavetable loading, and firmware updates. Availability is expected in fall 2026, so this remains a prototype entry for now.

Animal Factory Amplification is an Indian maker known for aggressive effects pedals, Eurorack modules, and experimental instruments. The company brings its distortion-focused design language into standalone synthesis with Asura, a compact hybrid wavetable synth prototype built around wavetable oscillators and an analog distortion circuit rather than a conventional filter path.
