When timing matters as much as tone, shaving latency down to a single millisecond can transform the feel of an instrument or interactive system. Bela Gem Stereo is built precisely for those moments, turning the PocketBeagle 2 into a compact, hard real-time audio and sensor hub with sub-millisecond end-to-end response and high-resolution sound.
This ultra-small open-source board pairs 2‑in/2‑out 24‑bit / 96 kHz stereo audio with eight 16‑bit analog inputs, sixteen digital GPIOs and a Qwiic-compatible I²C connector, all synchronised under Bela’s proven low-latency platform. Measuring just 58 × 45 × 22 mm and featuring on-board TRS jacks, it is ideal for portable instruments, haptic and assistive prototypes, embedded audio effects, and classroom or lab setups where you need sensor-rich interaction without complex bring-up. Developed to run with the updated browser-based Bela IDE on PocketBeagle 2’s quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Gem Stereo lets you move from concept to responsive, playable hardware quickly, while staying fully within an open, well-documented ecosystem.
