Peterlin Analog Chaos Synthesizer

AnalogMonophonic

Inspired by Rob Hordijk's legendary Benjolin, this compact chaos generator reimagines the Rungler circuit as a pocket-sized portal to unpredictable sonic worlds.

At its heart, two analog oscillators—one tuned slightly lower—pump out square waves via red banana jacks and triangles on orange, feeding a resonant lowpass filter that's constantly twisted by the chaotic Rungler shift register. Eight wooden knobs let you dial base pitches for each osc, filter cutoff and resonance (with blue CV banana inputs for external control), plus four central ones that route the Rungler back into osc A, osc B, and filter cutoff, or add osc A modulation to the filter for wild feedback loops. Patch points include grey Rungler CV out, white post-filter audio, black ground, and a minijack stereo in/out; it's all housed in a sturdy 3.75 x 3.75 x 1.5-inch wooden box, powered by internal 9V battery or 12VDC supply.

Players love how it evolves on its own, latching into filter pings, hefty drones, or gnarly storms that morph over minutes—perfect for experimentalists craving motion without menus.
