East Beast Semi-Modular Analog Synthesizer

AnalogMonophonic

Picture this: a compact powerhouse channeling classic East Coast synthesis vibes, where a single analog oscillator feeds into one of the smoothest multimode filters you'll find, all without the bulk of a full rack.

At its heart sits a Pittsburgh Modular-designed analog VCO pumping out sine, triangle, saw, square, and pitched noise waves that you can mix and morph with PWM and FM inputs for everything from throaty basses to screeching leads. The star is the PGH "Zero Dead Spot" state-variable filter—lowpass, bandpass, highpass, or combos—with a velvety sweep across its full range, no distortion dropouts or dull spots, paired to an analog ADSR envelope, integrated VCA, and dual-range triangle LFO. Hands-on controls include a 13-button keyboard, patchbay for its nine sections (osc, filter, env, VCA, LFO, multimod, sequencer, MIDI-to-CV, clock), plus a 32-step sequencer with generative modes, 13 presets, MIDI transposition, clock-synced arpeggiator, tap tempo, and divider. It ships standalone with wall wart power and five patch cables, or pops out as a skinny 40HP/25mm Eurorack module drawing 213mA +12V/151mA -12V.

Players dig its immediate playability and fat analog tone right out of the box, with the sequencer adding lively patterns that keep things fresh—though some wish for more oscillator waveforms to expand the palette.
