Like a self-evolving patch in 42HP, this module blurs the line between hands-on analog synthesis and algorithmic chance.
The CubuSynth ARKARION is a complete monophonic analog synth voice for Eurorack, built around two voltage-controlled oscillators, a multimode resonant filter, a flexible rise/fall envelope, and two VCLFO modulation sources, all under digital command. Its distinctive “DNA” patch system uses a 16‑bit randomizer to redefine the internal audio and CV routing, yielding up to 65,536 combinations that can be stepped through via a button or external gate, with colorful LEDs visualizing the active “gene” structure. Once you land on something special, you can refine it and store it in one of 64 patch slots across 8 banks, then recall it instantly in performance.
A dedicated audio input and main output make it easy to integrate ARKARION as either your primary voice or a wild, self-reconfiguring companion in a larger system. MIDI in (TRS Type A) provides automatic conversion to pitch CV and gate, while two internal VCAs, a gate-triggered random voltage generator, and a CMOS “tape-style” delay with CV-controllable time extend the palette from precise subtractive tones to unruly, evolving textures. Designed as a fully featured hybrid of analog sound path and digital control over signal flow, ARKARION offers structured, recallable chaos in a compact 3U, 42HP module.
