Pocket-sized but far from a toy, this handheld tracker is a full studio brain you can slip into your bag and build complete songs on anywhere. Inspired by classic software trackers yet purpose-built for modern hardware workflows, it turns dense sequencing, synthesis and sampling into a fast, addictive workflow on a bright, expanded 3.5" IPS display and a much longer-lasting internal battery for sessions that run up to 12 hours.
The Dirtywave M8 Tracker Model:02 is an 8-voice, polyphonic digital synth, sampler and sequencer in a rugged machined aluminum chassis, powered by the same mature “brains” as the original M8 but with a major hardware refresh. Its eight monophonic tracks can be freely assigned to waveform synthesis, 4‑operator FM, virtual analog engines derived from Mutable Instruments Braids, wavetable-style tones, sample playback or MIDI output, giving you chiptune grit, glossy pads, drums and external gear control from a single unit. Internal effects including delay, chorus, global reverb and a master bus limiter shape and glue your mix, while an onboard arpeggiator, modulation matrix and pattern-based song structure let you flip quickly between tight loops and sprawling arrangements.
Model:02 adds a built-in microphone for instant field and voice sampling, alongside a 3.5 mm stereo line input for cleaner sources, feeding straight into its sample-based instruments and SD card storage. USB‑C replaces the older Micro‑USB and operates in device mode for USB MIDI and audio interfacing, so the M8 can slot into a DAW or live rig as both controller and sound module. A shared 3.5 mm stereo output handles both line and headphones, and 3.5 mm TRS Type A MIDI in and out keep it talking to drum machines and synths. Each unit ships with a travel case, soft microfiber bag, USB‑C cable, TRS‑A to DIN MIDI adapter and a 64 GB microSD card loaded with demo songs, presets and samples, so you can power up and start writing complete tracks immediately.
