Scripts, sampling, synthesis, looping, and algorithmic rhythms can all inhabit the same Eurorack space with this reconfigurable open sound computer. Rather than behaving like a fixed-function module, it can change from sampler to granular processor, looper, drum machine, MIDI processor, or experimental sound environment by loading different scripts.
The digital platform is designed around Raspberry Pi 3B and 4B computers and integrates a dedicated mono audio path for modular signals. Custom analog op-amp input and output stages operate from the ±12V rails, with independent level controls for matching hot oscillator and drum signals or routing processed audio back through filters, VCAs, mixers, and effects. Dedicated input and output LEDs provide visual signal feedback.
A 20HP panel carries automatic Type A or Type B TRS MIDI input, switchable Type A or Type B TRS MIDI output, three USB ports, and a preconfigured 32GB microSD card. The open-source platform supports customized front panels and self-assembly with a user-supplied Raspberry Pi, while the module requires 500mA on the +12V rail and 10mA on the -12V rail.
