A stereo sound experiment with a practical side, the DTO turns two voltage controlled oscillators into a compact playground for modulation, timing, and delay. It is described by Heretic Machines as a continuation of the Motherfucker effect pedal, expanded into a stereo design with many more elements.
At its core, the DTO includes two square-wave VCOs with a high-range VCO mode and a low-range LFO mode, plus a modulation switch that lets one oscillator frequency-modulate or amplitude-modulate the other. It also adds glide or portamento, FM amount and frequency controls, two VCAs with CV input, and a dual delay section with delay length, feedback, and CV control via vactrol.
Heretic Machines lists it as an analog, experimental, duophonic device with stereo audio, one audio input and one audio output, and CV/Gate connectivity. It runs from a 9V DC center-positive power supply, which is not included. The DIY version is also offered, with an aluminum enclosure, panel, and pre-populated PCB, while the larger components are left for assembly.
