Eight synth personalities, one focused desktop instrument built to grow with you. Caladan turns the idea of “a single polysynth” into an expandable platform where analogue, digital and software engines live side by side in the same box.
At its core, Caladan is an 8-part multi-timbral hybrid synthesizer, with each Part running its own engine and feeding a built-in digital mixer with per-part insert effects and aux sends. Hardware voice cards provide dedicated analogue and hybrid engines like the 3‑oscillator DCO3 card, the 6‑voice OPL3 FM/subtractive card and the Quadrowave wavetable card with SSI2144 filters, while internal software engines such as the Callisto virtual analogue and multisampled SoundFont/SFZ playback cover lush pads, trance leads and detailed sampled instruments. Expansion is literal: up to eight voice cards drop into internal slots via a trap door, so you can tailor Caladan’s character around classic-style voices, FM, wavetable or sample playback as your needs evolve.
Performance and control are built into the front panel, with per-part arpeggiator, step sequencer and trance gate ready to drive whichever engine you load. Four insert FX plugins per Part plus two shared aux sends are hosted directly on the unit, with LV2 and VST3 support. An HDMI output unlocks a full HD graphical interface for deep editing via keyboard and mouse, while RGB LED rings around each encoder give instant visual feedback across parameters and engines. Connectivity is equally hybrid: class-compliant USB MIDI (host and device), standard MIDI DIN in/out/thru, four channels of CV/gate connectivity, multiple stereo output busses plus main and sub mixes, universal mains power and MPE support all make Caladan comfortable in studio, live and modular environments. Caladan is available as a desktop module in various configurations with different voice card counts, inviting you to start with a powerful hybrid core and then expand into your own multi-engine synth ecosystem.
