DNVO-1 Desktop Synthesizer

DesktopAnalogMonophonic

Handmade in Japan with military-grade build quality, this compact analog desktop synth punches way above its size for creating everything from thick drones to searing leads and wild noise walls.

Its core is a wide-range proprietary VCO fed by three independent sub-oscillators in different frequency ranges, plus a dedicated noise generator and envelope/waveform generator with attack/release shaping. Patch the VCO CV input to your modular for external control, or use the built-in 3-speed random trigger knobs and mix/repeat switch to generate endlessly evolving patterns without loops—pure voltage-driven chaos. Everything routes through a multimode resonant filter that self-oscillates and syncs to the VCO, with gate/trigger ins for sequencing; audio in/out are mono, keeping it simple yet versatile. Housed in a rugged, hand-wired enclosure, it runs on a 9V battery for portability or center-negative 9VDC PSU, no power supply included.

Users love its organic depth and unpredictability for sound design, often calling it a "beast" for harsh noise, techno bass, and twitching textures—few complaints beyond wishing for polyphony, but it's a monophonic powerhouse in JMT's lineup of minimalist noise boxes.
