Korg MiniPops 35 (MP-35)

Drum MachineAnalogMonophonic

Back in 1976, this little rhythm box dropped into Korg's lineup as a compact companion to their bigger Mini Pops family, delivering pure analog punch in an era when drum machines were just starting to shape electronic music.

It packs six distinct analog drum voices—think crisp kicks, snappy snares, and shimmering hats—across 13 preset patterns like rock, samba, and waltz, all monophonic for that vintage snap. Two variation knobs let you tweak kick/snare and hi-hat phrasing on the fly, adding real personality without complexity. The black metal chassis is sturdy yet portable, with simple slider controls for tempo, volume, and accent, plus a footswitch jack for live start/stop. Dual mono outputs mean easy integration into any setup.

Vintage hunters love its raw, 770-esque tone that's distinct from the classic Mini Pops but shares that warm SR-120 DNA—punchy and musical, often praised in demos for cutting through mixes with character.
