BEATROOTS expands the Korg Volca Beats with digital synthesis voices alongside its analogue drums. The PCM parts become a collection of noise textures, glitch loops, pitched code sounds and sine-based bass, opening the instrument to more melodic and experimental patterns. The PCM speed control shapes each voice's main parameter, and motion sequencing can automate those changes across a pattern. MIDI note input adds chromatic control to the bass voice. Browser and command-line patching tools let users create a custom update from their own official system file, bringing the new sounds into the Volca's familiar sequencing workflow.
