Two motorized haptic discs make parameter changes something you can feel instead of merely see. The MD-7 uses variable resistance, detents, textures, and virtual end stops to communicate different controls through touch, paired with a compact 1.65-inch, 273 PPI IPS display for oscilloscope, envelope, patch, and parameter views.
A backlit 13-button keyboard and three smaller controls provide a pocket-sized playing surface, while the digital engine includes a modulation system, drum looper, and 16-step sequencer. Mach Devices says the DSP engine, modulation system, sequencer, and firmware are planned for publication on GitHub so owners can customize the instrument and develop new workflows.
Connectivity centers on two USB-C ports, one dedicated to power and one for MIDI, digital audio output, compatible USB microphone input, and firmware updates. A stereo 3.5 mm headphone output and microSD slot complete the portable setup. The MD-7 is currently a sold-out preorder with late-September 2026 availability announced by the manufacturer.
