Etherwave Theremin

ExperimentalAnalogMonophonic

Invented in 1920 by Leon Theremin, this instrument lets you play music without touching a thing—your hands waving through the air control eerie, whistling tones that have haunted sci-fi soundtracks and rock anthems for decades.

Housed in a hand-finished hardwood cabinet measuring about 18 by 5.5 by 2.5 inches, it features two nickel-plated brass antennas: a tall straight one for pitch across a precise five-octave range from near 0 Hz to 4.2 kHz, and a looped one for volume with over 70 dB dynamic control. Front-panel knobs adjust pitch and volume antenna response, waveform shape, and brightness for tonal tweaks on the fly, while a mute button and dedicated headphone jack let you tune silently. True analog heterodyning oscillators deliver Bob Moog's classic warm sine waves with improved low-end punch, plus CV/gate outs for modular integration, all powered by a 12V wall adapter.

Players love its authentic, playable response that rewards practice, often pairing it with guitar amps for live sets, though it demands space and skill to master—many call it the gold standard for vintage theremin vibes.
