MF-104 Analog Delay

AnalogMonophonic

Introduced in 2000 as a limited-edition gem from the Moogerfooger series, this analog delay captured hearts with its bucket brigade device that delivers warm, organic echoes impossible to replicate digitally.

At its core, it uses a dual-range BBD for delay times from 40ms to 800ms, switchable between short/bright (40-400ms) and long/dark (80-800ms) modes, with dedicated knobs for Time, Feedback (from single repeats to infinite), and Mix for wet/dry balance. A standout 6-waveshape LFO—sine, triangle, square, saw, reverse saw, and sample/hold—modulates delay time via Rate (0.05-50Hz) and Amount controls, opening doors to flanging, chorus, vibrato, and beyond. Drive handles -7dB to +28dB input gain, Output Level optimizes volume, and the rear panel packs CV/expression inputs for Time, Feedback, LFO Rate/Amount, and Mix, plus MIDI on later versions, Tap Tempo assignable to delay or LFO, and Spillover mode. Housed in a sturdy tabletop/pedal format with tri-color LEDs for visual feedback, it's mono in/out and begs for modular or guitar rigs.

Over two decades, players have cherished its lush, characterful tone—rich and smooth without digital sterility—though some note the max 800ms limit compared to modern pedals. It's a collector's favorite for that authentic Moog vibe.
