Sixteen voices in a compact Eurorack format make the muRDrum a remarkably capable sample player for tight drum setups. Its eight slots cover kick, snare, closed hat, open hat, and four flexible positions for sounds such as claps, rims, rides, toms, percussion, or cymbals. Each slot has its own choke behavior, so retriggering a sound cuts the previous hit instead of allowing unwanted layering.
Built around an RP2350 processor, it stores up to 25 kits, or 200 samples, in its onboard flash and switches between them instantly. Three muR Lab kits are included, with two 808-style sets and one 909-style set. Samples play as 22.05 kHz, mono, 16-bit PCM, with about 84 seconds of total memory and up to 1.5 seconds available for the FLEX2 slot.
Loading your own sounds is refreshingly direct: connect over USB, use the browser-based tool to assign and audition WAV files, then drag one finished library file onto the module. The 6HP, 25 mm-deep 3U version is skiff friendly, while an Intellijel-format 1U version occupies 20HP. MIDI input arrives through a 3.5 mm TRS Type A connection, and stereo output is provided through two 3.5 mm jacks with per-slot pan settings.
