Born from the edge of experimental sound design, this compact instrument turns slow-motion atmospheres and evolving textures into a tactile, hands-on experience. Kagouyar is a digital 4-voice polyphonic virtual-analog synthesizer tailored for drones, ambient soundscapes and raw, morphing tones that comfortably cross over into techno and more rhythmically driven music.
Each of the 4 voices gives you 3 digital oscillators, combining classic analog-style waves with more complex and chaotic shapes for dense, shifting timbres. A multimode resonant filter, 7 LFOs and a flexible modulation matrix let you push those 12 oscillators into rich cross-modulation, feedback-style movements and subtly drifting pads, all without a single patch cable thanks to its semi-modular, cable-free architecture.
Two multi-FX slots add distortion, waveshaping, echo, freeze, string-style processing and ring modulation, inviting you to sculpt from delicate shimmer to corroded walls of sound. The front panel is loaded with 46 potentiometers and a 1‑octave touch keyboard for immediate, gestural control, while MIDI DIN input, balanced line out and headphones keep it studio-ready. Powered by an Electrosmith Daisy Seed DSP and released as open source, Kagouyar is both a playable instrument and a deep hackable platform, produced in a limited run of 70 units.
