A pocket-sized synth platform with a dense, performance-first control surface, OMSK is built for experimenting with custom instruments in a format that feels immediate and hands-on. It combines mechanical keys, rotary encoders, an OLED screen, and RGB status lighting into a compact hardware playground for sound design and firmware development.
Under the hood, it uses an RP2350-Zero module, with RP2040-Zero also supported. The hardware includes a 4x4 matrix of Kailh Choc v2 switches with hot-swap support, four Alps EC12 encoders, a 128x64 OLED display, 22 addressable RGB LEDs, and built-in mono PWM audio output with an optional headphone amp circuit.
Connectivity is equally flexible, with classic MIDI In/Out on TRS Type A and USB MIDI class-compliant support. Optional high-fidelity stereo output can be added through an external PCM5102 I2S DAC, while the open-source firmware stack covers wavetable, granular, FM, MIDI utility, and OLED test builds, plus desktop simulators and tools for development and testing.
