Random never sounded this intentional. WOAS is Orgeldream’s aleatoric drum machine: a four-voice desktop instrument designed around chance operations, evolving patterns, and real-time synthesis rather than preloaded samples or fixed sequences.
The manual defines its voices as Kick, Snare, Vainio, and Hi-Hat/WAVESNAP, each monophonic but playable together as a compact drum system. EVOLVE lets the machine improvise on material you enter or develop ideas from scratch, while MUTATION shifts between velocity entry and randomization that can lead into resampling and shuffling. The EFFECT control doubles as a low-pass filter on one side and randomized tempo-locked delay on the other, and WAVESNAP captures one second of external input or the machine’s own output for one-shot manipulation.
WOAS is built to sit between tabletop, MIDI, and semi-modular workflows. It has a 6.35mm input optimized for dynamic microphones, a stereo 6.35mm headphone/line output, USB-C power and USB MIDI, SYNC24 output for older DIN-sync devices, clock and ramp outputs, 5V tap-tempo input, and CV-oriented shape and utility jacks. The enclosure is 188 x 188 x 67 mm, with total height listed at 85 mm.
