At its heart, this is a two-channel CV and MIDI sequencer with up to 64 steps per channel, driven by a pair of smooth 60mm Bourns faders and a dedicated FUN button for instant creative disruption. The updated V2.0 firmware introduces Auto-Latch for hands-free looping, a scale library with 13 options plus 9 user scale slots per channel, performance quantisation modes, live transpose, and a deep set of generative and performance FX including Roll, Slice, Random, Slew, LFO and more. A built-in accelerometer ties it all together, letting you control sequences, modulation and FX with natural physical gestures that keep your focus on playing, not menu diving.
PlayFader Rev 2 connects cleanly to Eurorack, Buchla, Korg and MIDI gear via dual CV and Gate outputs with selectable 2V, 3V, 5V and 8V smooth CV ranges, 1V/oct, 1.2V/oct and Hz/V scaling options, variable-width gates and ratchets, plus switchable analog clock or MIDI transport over 3.5 mm TRS Type-A. Eight patch memories, dual loop buffers per channel, live visual feedback of loop content and user power-up defaults make it equally at home in the studio and on stage. All of this lives in a custom recycled PlayCase with chunky 5 mm anodised brushed steel panels, flat keycap buttons on Cherry MX switches, and ChromaCaps fader caps, giving PlayFader Rev 2 the feel of a serious performance instrument that invites you to stop programming and start playing.
