There is a particular weight and warmth to drums that have lived on tape and passed through glowing tubes, a density you feel before you even reach for the fader. Recodrum S captures that feeling and puts it under your fingertips in a dedicated, handmade rhythm instrument.
Built around the sound set of the original Reco Drum, this desktop drum machine is a sample-based, hybrid instrument that keeps its core identity firmly tied to its ancestor while expanding into a wide library of vintage drum machines. From Roland TR series staples and classic Linn and Oberheim tones to Simmons, SP-12, Mini Pops, Casiotone and more, every sample has been recorded to magnetic tape and mastered with vintage tube equipment, giving the entire palette a cohesive, musical glue that lets wildly different machines sit together naturally.
Recodrum S doesn’t stop at its sound library. It integrates two distinct reverb systems: a digital reverb voiced after the lush, expansive character of classic Lexicon processors, and a true analog spring reverb housed in a physical spring tank mounted on the back of the instrument for direct tactile interaction. More than a simple sampler, it is a playable collection of rhythm boxes from different eras, brought together in a single hybrid hardware instrument, handcrafted in small batches by Reco-synth for producers who want character, immediacy, and a deeply musical drum source.
