Modular Model 11

ModularAnalogMonophonic

Back in 1976, this modular system emerged from a small crew in Toulouse, France, hand-building custom modules for their musician friends before unleashing the Serie 11 on the world—a rare beast in the analog era when most synths were fixed keyboards.

At its core, it's a fully modular monophonic setup with three analog oscillators for rich, raw tones, a single envelope generator, LFO, and filter, all wired through a patchbay and multiples for endless experimentation. Typical configurations pack 8 modules like dual VCOs, VCAs, and the GEV envelope into a compact desktop or 19-inch rack frame, with patch memory in larger systems to save your wild routings. Controls are classic knob-per-function on metal panels, inviting hands-on tweaking without menus, and it slots into RSF's lineup as the flexible foundation before their Kobol series took off.

Over the years, collectors geek out over its warm, aggressive sound and build quality, though some note the scarcity of parts keeps it a labor of love for dedicated owners.
