Prophet 12 LE Hybrid Polyphonic

KeyboardHybridPolyphonic

This limited edition marks the final run of a synth that pushed hybrid design into new territory back in 2013, blending precise digital oscillators with warm analog filters in just 100 arctic white units with striking maple end caps.

Each of its 12 voices packs five DSP-based oscillators—four main ones with classic waves, 12 complex shapes, and noise options, plus a sine sub—capable of FM, AM, hard sync, and DX-style linear modulation, all feeding into resonant Curtis low-pass and high-pass filters, analog VCAs, and a character section with drive, hack, decimation, girth, and air effects. You've got four loopable five-stage D-ADSR envelopes, four syncable LFOs with slew and phase offset, a 16-slot mod matrix linking 26 sources to 97 destinations, plus per-voice four-tap delay, tuned feedback, arpeggiator, and sequencer. The 61-note keyboard responds to velocity and aftertouch, with touch-sensitive sliders, a logical front-panel layout for hands-on tweaks, stereo ins/outs, headphones, and 792 factory plus 792 user programs.

Players have long praised its vast sonic range—from lush pads to aggressive leads—and that intuitive panel that speeds up sound design, though some note the deep menu diving for advanced mods keeps it rewarding for dedicated users.
