Messeiver Irrational Shortwave Radio (Light Wood)

DesktopAnalog

$610

Imagine tuning into the chaos of global shortwave signals all at once, where weather patterns and solar flares act as your DJ, blending voices and static from across the planet into an ever-shifting soundscape.

This analog wonder receives 3-40 MHz frequencies without traditional tuning, capturing a broad swath of the radio ether through custom antennas clipped on via alligator connectors and panel switches for frequency control. It pumps out 5 watts through a vintage wide-range speaker or a mono 1/4-inch TS line out and headphone jack, powered by 110-230V AC or 10-24V DC. Housed in a handmade light wood case with brass inlays, a glowing neon bulb, NOS germanium diodes, and a hefty 2.8 kg build measuring 14.4 x 7.3 x 5.7 inches, it feels like a piece of radio history reborn for sonic experiments.

Since its release, folks have been captivated by its unpredictable broadcasts—perfect for ambient creators and texture hunters—though some note it's more about serendipity than precision control.
