Stix ST-305

Drum MachineAnalog

Back in 1981, this little analog drum machine hit the scene as one of the more hands-on programmable boxes around, letting you craft your own rhythms step by step when most gear was stuck on presets.

Its compact panel packs five knobs including tone control to dampen highs, three buttons for recording, three switch tabs, and seven sliders for precise mixing of each instrument—kick, snare, hi-hats, cowbell, and more across eight tracks with a dedicated accent channel. You get internal memory for eight custom rhythm patterns, six in 4/4 and two in 3/4 time, all fully step-programmable with no swing but solid sync in and out to link with synths like a Roland Jupiter-4. Individual outputs and aux input make it a flexible master clock in vintage setups.

Vintage enthusiasts dig its raw, oldschool beats and quirky charm, though sliders can get crackly with age—nothing a good clean can't fix. It's a gem for anyone chasing that early '80s analog punch.
