Arpeggio Portable Synthesizer + Arpeggiator

KeyboardDigitalMonophonic

Tangible Instruments designed the Arpeggio to be something you could actually carry with you and make complete melodies on the fly, which is rarer than you'd think in the world of dedicated arpeggiators. It's a three-in-one instrument that works as a standalone synth, a sequencer, and an arpeggiator all at once, making it genuinely useful whether you're sketching ideas at home or performing live.

The core engine is a two-oscillator virtual analog monosynth with dual ADSR envelopes, dual LFOs, and a low-pass filter, giving you plenty of tonal flexibility despite the monophonic limitation. You get 24 preset voice patches out of the box, but the synthesizer overlay lets you dig deeper and create your own custom sounds by tweaking waveshape, detune, portamento, and envelope parameters. The interface uses 17 soft-touch silicone keypads for note input and four rotary encoders with buttons for navigation and parameter editing, keeping things tactile and immediate. Sequences can stretch up to 128 notes long and save to 512 banks on the included SD card, which also stores all your custom synth patches and arpeggiator styles. You can adjust note lengths down to 1/64th notes, add rests, and transpose on the fly without stopping playback.

Connectivity is genuinely comprehensive for something this portable. MIDI works over five-pin DIN, USB, and Bluetooth, so you can control external gear or let the Arpeggio respond to incoming MIDI. There's also CV and gate output for modular integration, plus analog sync for syncing with other hardware. The built-in 1.5-watt speaker means you can make music without plugging into anything, and a single 18650 lithium-ion battery keeps it running for hours. At 7.75 by 3.5 inches, it fits in a backpack or even a large jacket pocket.

Since shipping, the Arpeggio has found a solid following among producers and performers who appreciate its balance of simplicity and depth. The slider-based control scheme for switching between functions is genuinely clever, and the ability to create and modify arpeggiator patterns in real time during performance has resonated with people looking for something more interactive than traditional sequencers.
