Cyclodon

DesktopAnalog

Back in 1998, this Swiss-made gem emerged as the perfect analog companion to the Technosaurus Microcon, delivering raw CV/Gate sequencing in a footprint smaller than a VHS tape—ideal for tight studio setups or live rigs chasing that vintage acid vibe.

At its core, it's a 16-step analog sequencer with 16 individual knobs for precise CV control per step, plus a tempo knob and switches for lengths from 1 to 16 steps. It loops seamlessly, outputs CV/Gate for driving compatible synths, and accepts external clock via Roland DIN-Sync for sync with gear like TR-808s. Additional toggles handle auto/manual stepping, start/stop, and no rests means constant motion—pure, unfiltered pattern generation without digital fuss.

Over the years, players have praised its sturdy build, intuitive hands-on tweaking, and spot-on pairing with monosynths for hypnotic sequences, though some note the lack of visual tempo feedback or rest programming as classic old-school tradeoffs. If you're into analog purity, this discontinued classic still punches way above its size.
