Wired Heart Touch Synthesizer

MicroDigitalPolyphonic

$46

Imagine a synthesizer that responds to the literal touch of your fingertips—and even your sweat—for pitch bends that feel alive and unpredictable. This compact hexaphonic beast turns human contact into chaotic, stereo soundscapes, perfect for those late-night experiments where logic takes a backseat to serendipity.

At its core, six analog oscillators form two master-slave pairs, delivering polyphonic touch control via humidity-sensitive sensors arranged in a heart-shaped panel. Press harder for higher pitches, or let your fingers' moisture add organic glissandi; two slaves get amplitude modulated for pulsing stereo effects, one hardsyncs strangely for stutters and vocal tones, and the last frequency modulates into bells or tremolo riches. Battery-powered and sized at 15.5 x 15.5 x 3.4cm, it packs a mono audio out, headphone jack, and extension ports—plug in the included three LEDs (which blink to oscillator rates), three photoresistors for light reactivity, or a potentiometer to evolve it into a self-oscillating light chaser.

Players love its raw, esoteric charm for drones and noise, calling it a "lovable weirdo" that sparks endless discovery, though some note the trial-and-error learning curve keeps it firmly in experimental territory rather than preset precision.
