Blackbox-mod is a free, unofficial firmware modification by Justin Joe for the original 1010music Blackbox, built on stock firmware 3.1.9. It adds mixer solo, hands-on slice editing, pad-triggered ducking, scale-aware chords and note conditions. Fidelity modes bring vintage-sampler-style coloration, alongside a revised filter, soft saturation, compressor models, room reverb and a granular delay. A browser patcher builds the modification locally from your own stock firmware file, then it installs through the Blackbox’s microSD card. The project does not distribute 1010music firmware and does not support Blackbox 2. The developer notes known solo-mute and sequencer timing issues. Original project code is MIT licensed.
